The Aquarius Institute, in partnership with UIA, offers a 5 year medical MD program. The International University of the Americas (UIA) is an accredited University located in San Jose, Costa Rica. Costa Rica is the most stable country in the region, whose economic stability and development makes it, the best place to study a major and get a university degree.
While UIA has been training Medical and Pharmacy students for the past 20 years, their medical program is five years in length and provides in-depth training in all the basic sciences and clinical rotations at state of the art hospitals in San Jose. All teaching and clinical rotations will be done in hospitals in Costa Rica. Additional clinical training can be arranged in the home country by MEPSCOR. The University is fully accredited by WHO. UIA graduates will be eligible to appear for the USMLE examinations to receive their US Residencies.
